    Street Style Weekly: Loren Lawrence

    By Alexia Johnson

Loren is a very down to earth individual who is about to launch his new clothing line called "Rare Breed." That comfortable sweater you see him wearing is one of his own creations. In fact, everything he wears is a true representation of him. From the tattoes on his skin, down to the print on his shorts. "I print T-shirts, work at Vans, and I hustle hard."

Where do you get your clothes from? Goodwill, Urban Outfitters, Vans, hand me downs...I just take what I want. I'm not too particular.

Frankmusik Debuts New Single "Chasing Shawdows"

Our February/March 2013 cover feature, Frankmusik, released his new single and accompanying clip for "Chasing Shadows." Taken from his forthcoming album, Between, the clip also precedes his headlining US tour, "Between States." The pop titan captures a moment that picks up where "Map,"  - his Far From Over EP - leaves off and takes on an entirely new direction.

Watch the video here and read Frankmusik's words below on "Chasing Shadows."

Words by Vincent Frank - Frankmusik:

"Chasing Shadows was the title of an EP I wrote back in 2007, but it was only a title. There was no song just an image in my head. I liked the concept of the title but I didn't find myself in a place where I could write anything relatable in my life at the time to the imagery it conveyed. Not until February this year. Being back home and away from many distractions I guess I woke up a little to the world around me and it didn't look as pretty as I liked to think it was. Not in a waterfalls and rainbows sense, but on a human level; a personal level. I found myself to be a victim of what lengths people can go to to mislead, elude and trick you into thinking something real when it clearly is false to most other people. Chasing Shadows is a song that, to me, describes the dire struggle to believe the lie you are being told. Wether it is faith or love guiding you into the need to wish the lie is real, I started to see this conflict as a shadow. A lingering always untouchable emptiness of a persons silhouette. The shadow only forms as a tertiary event and never exists in its own right. It uses an object/subject to I suppose, exist. I felt betrayed and used when I wrote this song by religion, politics and relationships and really the song is a culmination of this, dare I say, spurious trinity.

The song takes an adverse journey between sparse, open and telling verse's to one of the most emotive choruses I have ever written. I am glad to now be covering deeper subject matter and creating music for the sole purpose of stirring some emotions and thoughts in the listener. If I do either then my work is done."

    Street Style Weekly: Kara Corallo

    By Alexia Johnson

Kara is a quirky bookworm who is studying psychology and surprisingly thinks that she doesn't know how to dress herself very well. After looking at Kara's outfit, you probably beg to differ. "I'd say that majority of my clothes are from thrift stores, although I usually walk out with nothing. My style has been a progression over time."

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I want to live in a house up north with a garden, a giant easel, and walls of books surrounding me. Hopefully I'm a neuropsychologist by that time.

    Street Style Weekly: Raquel Trinidad

    By Alexia Johnson

After speaking with Raquel anyone would be inspired to travel and boldly take risks for the sake of adventure. She currently works with x-rays as a profession, but when asked what she does Raquel said, "I radiate people. I'm doing pixel art and I'm dipping my toes into many different kinds of things. I would't say I'm a musician or a pianist or fully anything." After discussing her backpacking trip to Spain and her prospective year in Korea teaching English I wasn't surprised to hear where she wants to be in 10 years: on Mars.

What does your style say about you? I don't like pants and I don't like restrictions. I like to be comfortable!
